Albion House

By A. Curatolo

The Albion House has strong vibes.  Albion was the original name for England and is also the Celtic name for white.  Paintings everywhere.  Many by the owner's husband, Sachal.  A boarding house in the 1960's and 70's, it is a short distance from Haight Ashbury.  Hey I am spending two days in Janice Joplin's room.  Imagine, imagine.  Remember, don't stray too far into here, there and everywhere.  Carol, the owner called and said you will love the Albion House Inn, it is totally illogical.  It is about 3:30 and I was at Stella's Pastry in North Beach eating a cannoli and sipping a cappuccino.  I was at the Albion House by 6:30pm.  The sign in Janis Joplin's room said "no smoking".  That was very amusing that considering in the 60's and 70's, that just by reenacting - I got stoned.  Either way, stoned or not - you will get a contact high.  People from the 60's and 70's -strived to be loving.  Refresh your good memories, why forget.  Say what is good when your memory is refreshed.  The Albion House has a great fireplace with elephants with their trunks up - a sign of happy victory.  The velvet burnt orange sofas are retro 70's with 20 foot high ceilings with lots of books and magazines.  Once you settle in the Albion House, it becomes your friend.  In fact, Albion House is an art gallery you can sleep in.  Keep on groovin!
