Barefoot

By A. Curatolo

Barefoot is located on 3rd street in West Hollywood.  Although the kitchen usually closes between eleven and twelve, it will accommodate at odd times of the day as if it isn't an odd time of a day.  If you have a heart attack from the great cuisine, Cedars Sinai has some of the top cardiologists in the country, which sits right across the street.  Just kidding. Although, what I said about the food is true as well as the cardiologists.

The food here is heart healthy and I am drinking one of the best organic wines, Oppidum.  Lindsey, my server, is the essence of the kind of person that I would like to hang out with.  Now, this late meal?

The bread is hot out of the oven and it is served with garden fresh basil olive oil spread that wakes your palate up, and in this case, lifts this weary over worked writer.  Yeah, I am grateful.  Don't ever give up.  Life is beautiful and fine cuisine fosters that understanding.

The pesto has anchovies and the waitress apologizes for not telling me being that I am a vegetarian.  Oh well, forgive and forget-seriously!  The tomato basil soup is so good that it became part of my bloodstream without any noticeable crossover? life is good.  Go barefoot sometimes.  Feel Mother Earth under your feet? feel, feel, feel.  The bare wood beams in the main dining room enhance this state of mind as well as the forest mushroom pasta.

Every place has it's own feeling because of one or more factors which I won't get into now.  In terms of Barefoot, it is playful while alone or with a party.
