Chaya, San Francisco, on the Embarcadero is hopping on Wednesday nite; enthusiasm is in the air with a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge. The menu is diverse, the noise level is "New York", and you gotta talk loud. We're ordering off the menu this time and it's a great one. In other words Chef Tetsuya Osaki is Iron Chef. The warm crispy goat cheese salad is fresh, the dry fried goat cheese blends well with the wines. The sea scallops wrapped with Serrano ham is perfectly tender and moist. Everybody is stoned on fun here with a lot of laughing in the room.
The food is earthy enough to keep you from flying, the room we are dining in is bursting through the seams. The sushi with shiitake is good, the fish appetizer was emperor quality. The wine list here is outstanding, it'll satisfy even knock the socks off of most wine critics. The atmosphere is of clean lines present enough to be there yet won't get in the way of your dreamily fun dining experience. It's happy time at Chaya, let the good times roll deep in the sinews of culinary delight.
Chaya compliments your wine with good food - vegetarian, fish, meat, poultry - interpreting your palate, you'll appreciate your palate even more than you might have had time or thought to do on your own.
Super Cool is our rating. Order a bottle of mm2, the bar manger's favorite. Service is spectacular, overall Chaya is repeat performance refreshment in any given night here in SF. Signature desserts: molten chocolate cake, cheese plate handled with perfection... Your gonna go home, your gonna wake up and you probably want to come back to Chaya for lunch. This haunt is fun. Even the bread is awesome! Detailed for perfection.
