Cork Enoteca

By A. Curatolo

Cork Enoteca resides in Marine County, a city that is very tasty to the eyes.  Across from Cork, yachts are the perfect detail added to the beautiful San Francisco view.  Inside, Cork is beyond laid back. The pace is like jazz on heroin.  You get high and mellow by the sheer fact that you entered the door. It is a below the radar place that has a sober approach.  Wine and dining are taken seriously here.  If you don’t feel like traveling, you can experience the finest wines internationally simply by hanging out at Cork.

Here, almost any mood can be accommodated.  The various lighting can bring out every aspect of your personality.  On the other hand, the sexy atmosphere and red pillows may bring out something else…  Cork gears up to a time where mind and body connection is real and lucid (I will elaborate on this in future reviews).

There is patio dining outside and inviting tables welcome guests in the front. You come to admire Cork.  The first step inside is like walking through an anti-stress machine.  The atmosphere is O-Pressure, which in return causes your blood pressure to plummet.  This is very good for sex.  Speaking of sex, the restroom may not appear very sexy, yet after a few glasses of wine, you may just want to flirt with naughty ideas. The rust red, multi-colored marble counter bar accents the sensual mood of Cork.  This is a good environment for singles; Cork definitely has potential for positive male/female interaction.  Or, you and your lady can invite your closest friends for a couple’s dinner.

Partner, Cornelia Mathis is an International Winer.  This is a rarity in Marine County being that Northern Californians are particularly dedicated to local wine exploration. Cornelia grew up in the restaurant business.  Her father, Dan, was a G.M. at a restaurant hotel.  Cornelia, on the other hand, is a Moonchild.  Her soothing feminine beams are released and surround her when she is still. To my way of seeing, they fly when she moves about to keep things in tact.  The three wines that touch her taste buds most tenderly right now are St. Laurent, Austria; Woodenhead Pinot, Humboldt; and Keuntz Bas, Riesling, Germany. In this celebration of Bacchus and Harvest abundance, you can close your eyes at Cork without making a choice.  Anyone can walk out of Cork reverberatingly pleased by Cornelia’s choices.

Although the menu is seasonal, the food at Cork is appropriate and nourishing.  The recipes are collaborated by Cornelia and John Donzol Stambaugh, better known as Dan.  Luscious panenis, salads, fondues, and other comfortable culinary surprises are served along with lots of avocadoes and artichokes.  The goat cheese fondue with razor sharp sliced apples and sourdough bread are literally a bite of Heaven. The white goat cheese is decorated with smile lines trickled with black truffle oil.  My fondue light needed relighting and Cornelia set the flames going.  Your Cork experience will surely leave you burning with pleasure.  The passionate, intoxicating atmosphere relaxes your mood and the food turns your taste buds all the way on.
