Myth

By A. Curatolo

Myth has an aura, a forbidden scent complete with zippy lighting art, young girl waitresses create an immediate effect that would send most humans to a different state of mind.  The wood panels above the bar are engaging - don't forget to look up.   Chrome light fixtures, blond marble counters exposed brick wall, creates an interior atmosphere. Outside of the decor atmosphere, Myth is embryonic.  Genuine atmosphere in public places takes time.  Myth exists to seduce. Try both the signature drinks: Pans Persuasion & Muses Inspiration will make your lips smacker.  Christine, the head bartender is mythically beautiful, no pun intended.  The pace at Myth is 1960's upper class, the music is wine slow. Don't order the wines by the glass, order the bottle. The booths are like a suit that doesn't fit. So if you come to Myth, think comfort, not pre-tense and you will have a good time.

I asked the chef to give me a vegetarian tasting, and what I received was pasta with Chinese brown sauce, which you can get in Chinatown at any time.  It seems the chef needs to work on being vegetarian friendly. In a way that translates to some culinary height that translates to a vegetarian palate. Mandonna and Giorgio Armani, who are vegetarians, might have walked out.

On another note, the scallops were cooked perfectly-melted in my mouth. The scallops were in a sea of delicious potato fluff, with edamame boats floating by.  The open kitchen was refreshing. Mermaid fabric hung from the center of the space. Icy Cool.
