Hospitality: Sweet, understated Elber, the manager, and Christy greeted me warmly!
In a place where there are more poison fast food places per square foot than most of L.A. it is an oasis to find that Native Foods is all vegan and all organic in close proximity to UCLA. I am happy to see a place that can nourish students without any undue poison.
The menu is eclectic and they have four locations - Westwood, Costa Mesa, Palm Springs, and Palm Desert. Lynda Sheklow is a native Palm Springer and is featured on the Food Network for her creative and unique cooking classes.
The atmosphere is funky college cafe, and there are many educational leaflets about food and the environment. Plate portions will satisfy any college student, and there are many. In keeping with the atmosphere it's an order, pay, serve at the table model.
It's truly an accomplishment to have an all organic restaurant, and I'm sure this vision don't come easily.
Menu: some raw things on the menu, changes often, some macrobiotics. Deserts contain no eggs - vegan chocolate tofu cake, carrot cake
The texture and preparation of Native Foods is unique and exciting in their use of natural organic ingredients. An earthy lunch in the lofty loft.
