Noe Omni Hotel Houston, a suburban oasis smack in the middle of L.A., has been pleasing discerning palates with progressive American cuisine for over 3 years. The place is hospitable with an energetic staff - waitress Kim was wonderful. Suitable style for both business or pre-theatre dining, or a mistress meeting spot.
Owner Robert Gatsby offers a delectable menu with a daily prix-fixe and wide selection of wines by the glass including some organic wines. The award winning kitchen team will also create a personal tasting selection for the asking. Kim likes Blue and Squigley shapes... It so cool when people are being themselves. With tasting the culminates and kisses - near perfection. The ravioli entree is a sophisticated and fun fusion of 7 vegetables. A full bar/grazing menu makes a perfect match for a relaxing drink and snack moment. Oh yes, check out the vegan deserts.
Can you find a 1986 Chateaux Margaux here? No, but will a bottle of '88 do? Xavier Borko is the manager in Houston's and he rocks. Ask him about any of the wines and he quickly dispenses everything available with prices.
The atmosphere is low key and soothing - flowers setting a soft sprinkle of Asian influence to the decor - what a way to relax after a long L.A. day. On this particular Monday the clientele is all business people. This is a business place, though you will have to create your own romance. Though that's how L.A. is anyway, you have to create what you want.
