You gotta love Triangle Road Café. This place is deep in the wilderness. Triangle Road Café has a very down home atmosphere. In fact, it is home. Mountain folk come here. There is guitar music on Saturday night. Yeah, I am a smiling city boy from New York City. Yippity Do Da!
The place is decorated like you would imagine. It is simple with pictures of serene mountain scenes. It just feels good here. It is a hard place to find. Elizabeth, the owner and chef, just said something while smiling and strolling back to the kitchen.
The mountain is a happy place. Elizabeth Bowlin has owned Triangle Road Café for three years, although, the restaurant is twenty years old. From the looks of things around here, Elizabeth takes her cooking seriously. This restaurant is drenched in a deep mountain look, which is somber, happy, and special every evening. Elizabeth Bowlin is the chef of Triangle Road Café as well. She has sandy brown hair with a braid going down her hips. She is a mom and has blue eyes that reflect. She has been seeing nature and mountains for some time. Nature teaches rhythm if you watch it. Elizabeth has a mountain country rhythm in keeping those luscious dishes on time to her loyal customers. Elizabeth has been cooking forever and has put her special touch on the food.
The cool thing about this place is that it is for everyone. Each person is vegetarian friendly and sincere. There are some organic, aquaponic, as well as hydroponic vegetables. Paul, Elizabeth’s son, helps out Marsha, a sweet person that doubles as a Sommelier. This is just a warm American place to dine. It is a café with good food, no gimmicks, pretensions, or tension.
Pineapple and cranberries go in the house salad. Eat it slow… The Triangle Road Café will get the approval of the slow food movement. In fact, I suggest that they visit and compare notes. The salad embellished with cranberries, pineapples, and raspberry vinaigrette, wake you up as the live folk songs float in the background. The bread is served with whole garlic cloves and oil. This will easily ward off anything that you don’t need. The vegetarian lasagna with root vegetables, onions, and broccoli is a perfect accomplishment for the chef, who happens to be very dedicated. Elizabeth works five days a week.
The dessert menu is ebb and flow. They change weekly. Try the layer chocolate cake or the cloud light lemon Italian cake. Triangle Road Café… Stay tuned…
