In 1978, The Washington Square Inn was a pharmacy. The pharmacy was then bought by the Nancand Norm Resenblaup and turned into an inn. The current owners, Daniel and Maria, have been in the inn business for twenty years. They are a husband and wife team who find enjoyment in making people happy.
Comfort and goodness rest in my aura when staying at places with the name ‘Washington’. There is a double reverberation in staying at The Washington Square Inn. One lies in a story regarding the first father of this nation. Sit back and watch why the name ‘Washington’ makes me feel the way it does. Member of the Masonic Order, George Washington, made a multitude of attempts at being fair and honest. He was also passionate. Many advanced historians know of this passion with regards to how President Washington caught pneumonia. It is said that during a cold, New York winter, (New York was the first capital of the United States), he was making love to a senator’s wife who was supposed to be away. The senator had to come back for some unforeseen reason and Ole’ George had to jump out of a second story window and run through a large amount of acreage to reach his estate. Ole’ George’s efforts at being fair and honest were always welcome. The rest is history. Justice for all is an ongoing trip that we will experience sooner or later. Moreover, the other reverberation is the Italian feeling that marinates in North Beach. It gives Italians a home feeling that can’t be beat.
Putting all of that aside for Lord’s sake, I will need a good night sleep. I ate a fabulous meal at Mooses and I rolled back into my room with blue and white English motifs on the drapes. Among the trees, dogs, and sweet homes, there is a flat screen television. The big, fluffy beds are inviting clouds. The modern hardware in the bathroom isn’t ascrafted as the building, which was built before the 1800’s. Although, I sympathize to find that exact hardware is difficult match.
The united couple, Dan and Maria/Maria and Dan, reveals their caring spirits and contain their love in Washington Square Inn. It feels good here. Normally I become fond of a place and I instantly dart out to explore the city. At Washington Square Inn, I found myself during dinner thinking about my room and how I looked forward to going back and doing whatever. Having three women waiting there for me may have had something to do with that.
The room has a draw of luxury and comfort. Need I say more? The close proximity of each room reminds me of my grandmother’s mansion. During Christmas, aunts, uncles, first and second cousins (people I never heard of or saw), would come together to celebrate the togetherness of the family. This is the vibe of Washington Square Inn.
Yeah, I may walk around the block to a North Beach restaurant. Caffe DeLucchi is down the street and I am sure that there is a plethora of other things to do. I could pick up some poetry books at City Lights Bookstore on Columbus. Though you know, that room at Washington Square Inn also offers me things to do…and undo.
